Bio

Chef Mia Humphrey was born and raised in Southern California and has spent the last 12 years residing in San Diego. There she received her BA in Communications at California State University San Marcos and her Culinary Diploma from San Diego Culinary Arts Institute. Chef Mia took full advantage of the opportunities early in her career by gaining experience at well-known fine dining establishments along the west coast, including the critically acclaimed restaurant, Addison at The Grand Del Mar Hyatt. She was a Chef Instructor at Great News Cooking School in Pacific Beach and she was Chef de Cuisine of Indigo Grill for San Diego's Celebrity Chef Deborah Scott. Mia was the Executive Chef for Analog Bar in San Diego's Downtown Gaslamp District, and for Kensington Cafe, in San Diego's historical town of Kensington. Mia is a recent transplant to Cleveland and is one of our Institute's newest Chef Instructors. Chef Mia believes that the combination of proper technique and quality products are important variables in learning how to become a distinguished Chef. She is honored to be a member of the ICASI team and eager to incorporate her west coast style with the traditions of Ohios mid-west culture.
